Exalted Ruler

Justin McDaniel

Cardinal Principle: Fidelity. This station represents faithfulness and steadfast loyalty to the obligations, values and purposes of the Order.

The Lodge’s chief elected officer. The Exalted Ruler presides over Lodge meetings, provides overall leadership and helps ensure Lodge business follows Elks statutes, by-laws and established procedures.

Leading Knight

Beverly Schafman

Cardinal Principle: Charity. This station represents compassion in action: hearing the needs of others, helping those in distress and leading through service.

Assists the Exalted Ruler in leading the Lodge and presides when the Exalted Ruler is unavailable. The Leading Knight also supports committee work and the orderly conduct of Lodge business.

Loyal Knight

Brittney Strumer

Cardinal Principle: Justice. This station represents fairness, integrity and the responsibility to treat members and others with impartiality and respect.

Supports the Exalted Ruler and Leading Knight in Lodge leadership and steps into presiding duties when required. The role helps keep meetings and Lodge business moving in proper order.

Lecturing Knight

Shawn McConnell

Cardinal Principle: Brotherly Love. This station represents fellowship, compassion and genuine concern for fellow members and for the people the Elks serve.

Supports the elected leadership team, Lodge meetings and ritual responsibilities. The Lecturing Knight also assumes presiding duties when the senior elected officers are absent.

Secretary

Miranda Miller

Maintains the Lodge’s official records, meeting minutes, correspondence and membership administration, and handles required reporting and notices. The Secretary is a key point of contact for official Lodge records and membership paperwork.

Treasurer

Abby Boley

Oversees the Lodge’s financial records and disbursements, working with Lodge leadership to maintain accurate accounting and financial controls. Questions about Lodge financial procedures and payments generally route through this office.

Trustee Chair / Five Year

Steve Gallant

Leads the Board of Trustees in stewardship of Lodge property, finances and long-term operations as provided by Elks law and Lodge by-laws. The Trustees work collectively rather than as five separate departments.

Trustee — One Year

Eric Goodwin

Serves on the Board of Trustees, helping oversee Lodge property, finances and long-term stewardship in accordance with Elks law and Lodge by-laws.

Trustee — Two Year

John Calvin Garrison

Serves on the Board of Trustees, helping oversee Lodge property, finances and long-term stewardship in accordance with Elks law and Lodge by-laws.

Trustee — Three Year

Tim Hassert

Serves on the Board of Trustees, helping oversee Lodge property, finances and long-term stewardship in accordance with Elks law and Lodge by-laws.

Trustee — Four Year

Mark Soffel

Serves on the Board of Trustees, helping oversee Lodge property, finances and long-term stewardship in accordance with Elks law and Lodge by-laws.

Tiler

Steven Cederstrom

Guards the outer door during Lodge sessions and helps ensure that only those entitled to attend enter the Lodge room. The Tiler is part of the formal order and security of Lodge meetings.

Esquire

Shannon Wallace-Soto

Assists the Exalted Ruler with the orderly conduct of Lodge meetings and ceremonial work, including duties assigned under Elks ritual and procedure.

Chaplain

Michael Miller

Leads prayers and invocations and supports the Lodge’s ceremonial and memorial observances, reflecting the fraternal and compassionate traditions of the Elks.

Inner Guard

Byron Burch

Guards the inner door during Lodge sessions, managing entry and exit as directed and helping maintain the order of formal meetings.

Presiding Justice

Douglas Wymore

Serves in the Lodge’s formal judicial process when required under Grand Lodge statutes, helping ensure disciplinary proceedings are handled according to established Elks rules and procedure.

Alternate Representative to Grand Lodge

Lynn Youngs

Represents the Lodge at the Grand Lodge Convention when the primary representative cannot serve and helps ensure Scottsdale Lodge #2148 has representation in Grand Lodge business.
