The Esteemed Leading Knight is the Lodge’s first vice-president and serves directly behind the Exalted Ruler in the officer line. The station represents Charity, one of the four cardinal principles of Elkdom.

What Beverly’s role means at Scottsdale #2148

Beverly assists the Exalted Ruler with Lodge leadership and steps in when needed. Just as importantly, she helps members connect with the charitable and fraternal work that gives the Lodge its purpose.

Her officer role and committee leadership overlap naturally: bringing people together, supporting programs that matter and helping members find meaningful ways to participate.

The Fraternal Committee helps bring Grand Lodge programs to life locally. That can include Americanism, Lodge activities, membership, recognition, veterans programs, the Elks National Foundation and other opportunities for service and participation.

The useful bit: members do not need to understand every national program. Beverly can help connect you with the right person or opportunity at Scottsdale #2148.

Patriotism with purpose

Elks Americanism programs encourage respect for the United States, its flag, civic responsibility and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

One of the best-known programs is the annual Americanism Essay Contest for students in grades 5–8.
