BECOME AN ELK

Find your way into #2148.

Membership is more than access to the Lodge. It connects you to a national fraternal organization built around community service, veterans, youth, scholarships, friendship and local involvement.

HOW IT WORKS

A straightforward path from interested to initiated.

1

Start the conversation

Contact Scottsdale #2148 Membership or complete the official Elks membership inquiry.

2

Find your sponsor

An Elk in good standing proposes you for membership, with two additional Elk references.

3

Complete the application

Your sponsor helps you obtain the membership application. Complete it fully and return it through the Lodge process.

4

Interview & Lodge vote

The application is presented to the Lodge, reviewed by the investigating committee and voted on by the membership.

5

Orientation & initiation

If approved, you attend orientation and initiation to become a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

ELIGIBILITY BASICS

Who can apply?

  • At least 21 years old
  • A citizen of the United States
  • Believes in God
  • Of good character

These are the national eligibility basics. The official Elks membership process governs final eligibility and application requirements.

NEW TO THE ELKS?

You do not need to know the whole system first.

If you are interested but do not yet have a sponsor, start by contacting the Membership Committee. The useful first step is simply getting connected to the Lodge and learning whether membership is a good fit.
