THE MAVERICK · P.E.R. LEGACY
Anna Mineer: a history-making leader who kept serving.
Becoming Exalted Ruler was a milestone. What came afterward — fundraising, community partnerships and building the next generation of P.E.R. service — is the bigger story.
In 2021, Anna Mineer became the youngest woman elected Exalted Ruler in the history of Scottsdale Elks Lodge #2148. She served as Exalted Ruler from 2021 through 2023, a milestone covered by the Scottsdale Progress in its story, “Scottsdale Elks Lodge leader is a history-maker.”
Her Lodge leadership did not stop with the title. Anna now chairs Scottsdale #2148's Past Exalted Rulers Association, where fundraising is tied directly to practical community projects.
Service before, during and after the chair.
2020 — Supporting healthcare workers.
Arizona Elks News reported that Anna Mineer and Rota Venners used their food truck to provide complimentary meals for 100 nurses and healthcare workers at Banner Desert Hospital and Valleywise Health during the early months of the pandemic.
2021–2023 — Exalted Ruler.
Anna served two years as Exalted Ruler of Scottsdale Lodge #2148 after her history-making 2021 election.
2025 — P.E.R. fundraising tops $4,100.
The P.E.R. Association's year-end recap reported more than $4,100 raised through monthly dinners and a successful bake sale. The funds went toward Scottsdale community improvement projects.
2025–2026 — Granite Reef Senior Center.
P.E.R. funds supported a safety-focused renovation of two aging fountains at the Granite Reef Senior Center. The project finished under budget, and the completed work was recognized during the center's 20th anniversary celebration in March 2026.
2026 — Paiute Neighborhood Center.
The P.E.R.s began helping transform an unused room at the Paiute Neighborhood Center into a multipurpose community space. Volunteers cleared the room in July; the current supply drive is helping equip the finished youth and family space.
A P.E.R. legacy that is still being written.
The point of preserving Scottsdale #2148's Past Exalted Ruler history is not simply to record names. It is to show the connection between past leadership and current service. Anna's story is one example of that continuity: a historic first followed by years of work that kept moving outward into the community.
Additional historical details are supported by Arizona Elks News and Scottsdale #2148 P.E.R. Association records.
